| On behalf of City Council, I am pleased to accept the Annual Report of the Revelstoke Community Forest Corporation. During the past year the Corporation has undergone a corporate re-structuring which will assist in streamline operations between the forest and base and the operation of the sort yard. Despite falling prices at the end of this calendar year and despite the harvesting of low value pulp wood, the Corporation continues to make a return on the investment made by the City. The indirect value in having local contractors working for more months of the year cannot be measured in actual dollars but is a great benefit to the community. One of my duties early in the year was to accept re-payment of $500,000.00 from RCFC on the original loan of $1,000,000.00. | |
The Revelstoke Community Forest Corporation continues to be a positive influence on the logging/milling sector of our economy.
