Revelstoke Community
Forest Corporation (RCFC), the holder of Tree Farm License 56 (TFL 56),
is in the process of writing a new Management Plan (Management Plan #4)
and completing a Timber Supply Analysis. RCFC is now nearly completed
the process – to the point where the draft Management Plan and
Information Package are ready for public review.
The Management Plan
is the guiding document that describes objectives, goals, and strategies
for the integrated management of forest resources on the TFL. The
Information Package outlines the basic information and assumptions that
are proposed for use in Timber Supply Analysis.
TFL 56 is located
north of Revelstoke in the Downie Creek and Goldstream River areas and
is comprised of 119,500 hectares of crown land. The current annual
harvest level is 100,000 cubic metres per year.
RCFC invites you to
comment on the draft Management Plan #4 and Information Package. There
will be an OPEN HOUSE AT
THE RCFC OFFICE ON OCT 1, 2008 – 10am to 5pm.
As well, the draft plan will be available at the RCFC office and on the
RCFC website from Sept 22, 2008 to Oct 10, 2008, for your review. Your
concerns will be considered in the preparation of Management Plan #4. If
