RCFC’s Tree Farm
Licence agreement with the BC Government states that 50% of the sawlogs
produced annually will be sold by competitive bid to the highest bidder.
The other 50% is distributed to our three local industry partners at
cost, based on their original investment in RCFC.
The logs advertised for sale on
this site are those logs that are available for competitive bidding.
RCFC has decided to sell these logs by sealed tender in variable sized
lots that are piece-scaled for volume and sorted into decks of specific
species and grades. Primary species are western red cedar, Englemann
spruce, sub-alpine fir (Balsam), Douglas fir, western hemlock and
western white pine.
A
copy of the tender form is
provided. Please read over the clauses on the tender form before bidding
so that you are aware of the rights and responsibilities of bidders and
RCFC. No deposits are required for bidding and no minimum bids are set,
although RCFC retains the right not to sell an advertised deck of logs
if it so chooses.
Various decks of
logs are advertised for sale weekly during the active logging season
(mid-May through mid-March) with usually a weeks notice between
advertising and tender opening. Bidding is closed at 10am (PST) on the
advertised sale date (usually a Wednesday morning) with tender opening
immediately after the closing time. Successful bidders are faxed an
invoice and they have two weeks to pay for their logs before compounding
interest charges of prime plus 4% are added to the original purchase
price. Logs must be paid for before they are removed from the sort yard.
For out of
province bidders, please note that the logs originate from public forest
land and therefore are subject to Provincial Government Log Export
Regulations which require manufacture within the province before export.
Otherwise, an Export Permit must be obtained and fees in lieu of
manufacturing must be paid. Please see the following website for
information on log export procedures: (

us if you have any questions.
