Community

Profits from RCFC operations are channeled back into the community. We support local residents through a variety of funding opportunities, donations, maintenance of FSR roads for recreational use, as well as the operation of the biomass system used to supply heat to public buildings.

Recreation

The Keystone Forest Service Road (FSR) is within TFL 56. This road provides access to Keystone Basin, a popular recreation area near Revelstoke that is used year-round by hikers, runners, mountain bikers, hunters, snowmobilers and backcountry skiers.

FSR road maintenance happens when logging crews are using a road and hauling is planned. Yes, all forestry takes place on Crown land; however, road construction and maintenance falls to the licence holder.

Keystone FSR sees a lot of traffic. In response to that and because recreation is one of the values we uphold in planning, RCFC covers the expense of keeping this road open even when we are not harvesting. Check out Timber Times for the full story on Keystone and its notorious water bars!

Forestry Museum

The Forestry Museum is popular with tourists and locals. It's important to preserve the working history of our town and our environment. We've come a long way, and we're proud of our industry. Over the years, RCFC has donated $130,000 to the museum.
